About Me
Hello, I'm Juan Carlos Leon Benitez. I bring a lifetime of experience in human movement to the treatment table. I was born in Cuba and was a member of the National Gymnastics squad before training at the Havana Circus School as an acrobat and flying trapeze artist.
I relocated to the UK in 1995, where I enjoyed a long and successful career as a professional performer, appearing in productions worldwide.
In 2008, I trained as a Soft Tissue Therapist with the IRSM at the prestigious London School of Sports Massage, and since then, I have worked in private practice. In addition to treating elite performers and amateur enthusiasts in several sports, I offer preventative treatments and post-injury massage to anyone seeking to maintain and improve mobility or recover fully. I live in West Bridgford, and treat clients at West Bridgford Tennis Club, in their own homes around the East Midlands, and at Physio Plus Clinic in Wollaton.
In addition to hands-on massage, I am experienced in blading, acu-pressure techniques, and cupping therapy.
In January 2022 I added Extra Corporeal Shockwave Therapy to my list of treatment skills. ESWT is a game changer in the care of soft tissue injuries. I have seen excellent results treating a number of different conditions.
