About Me
Hello, I'm Juan Carlos Leon Benitez. I bring a lifetime of experience in human movement to the treatment table. I was born in Cuba and was a member of the National Gymnastics squad before training at the Havana Circus School as an acrobat and flying trapeze artist.
I relocated to the UK in 1995 where I enjoyed a long and successful career as a professional performer appearing in productions worldwide.
In 2008 I trained as a Soft Tissue Therapist with the IRSM at the prestigious London School of Sports Massage, and since then I have worked in private practice. As well as treating elite performers, and amateur enthusiasts in several sports, I offer preventative treatments and post-injury massage to anyone looking to maintain and improve mobility or return to full health. I live in West Bridgford, and treat clients in their own homes around the East Midlands, and at Physio Plus Clinic in Wollaton.
In addition to hands-on massage, I am experienced in blading, acu-pressure techniques, and cupping therapy.
In January 2022 I added Extra Corporeal Shockwave Therapy to my list of treatment skills. ESWT is a game changer in the care of soft tissue injuries. I have seen excellent results treating a number of different conditions.
